UNC Imperial Allthreads

UNC (Unified Coarse) threaded rod is widely used across engineering, automotive, fabrication and maintenance applications throughout the United States and internationally. Its coarse thread profile provides strong engagement, good resistance to stripping and reliable performance in softer materials such as aluminium and mild steel. Fully threaded along its length, UNC rod can be cut to size and used with standard UNC nuts, washers and couplers.

Typical uses include bracing, suspending pipework and ducting, supporting cable trays, creating adjustable fixings, and general-purpose fastening in machinery and structural assemblies. UNC threaded rod remains a dependable choice for both new builds and maintenance work where Unified thread compatibility is required.

The Unified Thread Standard (UTS), which includes UNC, was introduced in 1948 as a joint agreement between the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. It replaced a patchwork of earlier national thread forms and established a consistent 60° thread angle across the Unified system. UNC became the preferred coarse-thread option for general engineering and manufacturing in North America and continues to be widely used today in machinery, automotive and industrial applications.
